mindset bite #016 - MERRY CHRISTMAS and the trap of "happiness"

it's not about what you own, or how much money you make...
it's about the lives you impact, and what you create...

we're wired for instant gratification...
we're wired to chase emotions for those fleeting moments that make us feel like we're on top of the world
and yet, in a time where we have everything our hearts could desire, we're not as happy as we want to be...

see, happiness comes from the small things in life. from family. from love. from gratitude for others and what we have

it doesn't come from the latest iPhone, that new handbag, or making the rep squad - as what you're experiencing there isn't true happiness - it's a fleeting moment of neurochemicals, and soon you'll be back to square one

the issue arises with the way we think of it as "if "x" happens, then I'll be happy " - but the truth is we can decide to be happy right now - as there is truly only this present moment - and when "x" happens, all else might still be exactly the same

you'll still be the same person unless you decide to work on it...
your problems will all be the same unless you decide to work on them...

instead of striving to achieve, we should strive to do and accomplish those things that leave us feeling fulfilled - as fulfillment is greater than achievement

Merry Christmas Academy Fam! We hope today is filled with joy, love, delicious food and amazing memories are created. Choose to be happy today as you may be blessed to be around family and those you love :)

Actionable Tips/Questions to Ask:

  • Am I of the "if "x" happens, then I'll be happy" tribe, and why?
  • How can I decide to be happy and enjoy the moments right now? If not, what am I thinking will bring me happiness, and how can I break the pattern to know that it won't bring true happiness, just that fleeting moment...
